You need to create POP accounts via the
Control Panel and assign each one a password. When a Hosting Package is first
created a default POP account is added called <mail@yourdomain> with the
same password as the Control Panel. You should have received your Control Panel
username/password via email.
Example:
SMTP Server: mail.mydomain.com
POP3 Server: mail.mydomain.com
Username: mail@mydomain.com
Password: xyzxyzxyz

The amount of POP accounts (sometimes called POP boxes) available to you is dependant on what type of Web
Hosting Package you have. For example, on the entry level
Starter Plan you only get 1 POP account. You can
view the amount of POP accounts currently available to in the
Control Panel. (Domains --> Your Domain
--> Email Accounts (POP3)
Yes, you can purchase extra POP accounts in blocks of 5. So if you already have
10, purchasing 1 extra block will give you a total of 15. To add POP accounts, log
into your Control Panel, goto Packages -->
"Your Package" --> Extra Features and select 5 x POP Boxes.
Please be mindful you need to make payment within the Billing Section of
the Control Panel before you can
actually set them up!
I use MS Exchange, can I get email delivered directly to my server?
I use MS Exchange, can I get email delivered directly to my server?
If you would like an SMTP feed then please
request this separately not
forgetting to supply us the IP address or FQDN you want it delivered to. Your email will be 'pushed' direct to your
email server after we have checked it for virus's and spam. This is done automatically
so you do not need to configure ETRN.
If you would prefer to have email delivered directly to your MS Exchange then
amend the MX records in the DNS within your
Control Panel. Please contact us if you require a guiding hand in setting
this up.
Yes! Email is not designed for large files and capacity would become
overwhelming if people suddenly started emailing the contents of entire CDs or
DVDs! Cut.co.uk restricts all inbound and outbound emails to 20mb. This is
enough to insure all normal email gets through okay. If you have requirements to
transmit larger files then consider using FTP. If you get really stuck then give
us a call and we may be able to suggest alternative methods on an ad-hoc basis.

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is the simplest way to exchange files between computers on the Internet. Like the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), which transfers displayable Web pages and related files, and the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), which transfers e-mail, FTP is an application protocol that uses the Internet's TCP/IP protocols. FTP is commonly used to transfer Web page files from their creator to the computer that acts as their server for everyone on the Internet. It's also commonly used to download programs and other files to your computer from other servers.
When you purchase any Package and then add a Domain to it, a default FTP username and password is created. These FTP
details always follow the same pattern. This is best described in an example:-
